PortConMaine '09 Report 'n' stuff...

First off... Yay PORTCON!! My favorite con to go to. (sorry AB.) it's my "home" con and i've made quite a few friends with the staff and etc. Didn't sell as much as i'd like, but i sold out of a few things like Tune In and Kiba (again...). The posters dont seem to move, so they may end up being an Online only type of thing. Mike sold a couple masks, got some commissions, and is working on a Sweet Tooth (from Twisted Metal games) mask. Super creepy. I hate clowns...

My photoshop panel with Tom Brown went really well. It ended up being more than 2 hours and a lot of people participated in the Q&A during the con. I also think there is a need for more panels on different programs, like Manga Studio and Painter. I'm also going to be talking to Wacom about possible sponsoring at conventions. That way i could make these awesome tablets available for use and purchase for con goers. Just a thought.

I'm going to be making some online tutorial videos for Photoshop soon. I'll be busy for the next week-ish, but i'm aiming for July to start recording and editing the videos. Also, i'll be offering private online tutoring over Skype and Opencanvas for those interested. Time and price are still being worked out. Same for the Online Store. I need to take a look at having Paypal as my shopping cart...

Anywho... new work should be up soon. Some old, some new. I'll be uploading manga and webcomic stuff soon too. See? Now that the new site is up, I actually UPDATE!! :X Shocking... i know.

New Website BANZAI!!

BOOOYAAAH!! New website!

It took me a while because I really dont like webcoding. So, i found this nifty place called "Squarespace". If you're in the mood for a site and dont like the hassle of building your own from scratch, SquareSpace is for you. Seriously... check em out.

Okey dokey, on to the updates:

  • AnimeBoston 2009 went without any major hitches or glitches!  Mikey and I did pretty well, he sold out of most of his masks, and only had about 3 left. I sold out of a few things, like the new "Tune In" and my Kiba pic. I donated a framed poster version of Tune In to the Charity Auction and it went for a pretty penny! Big hugs to whoever spent around $100 for it. :D I got to hang out a bit with Greg and Chris Aryes from ADV and got to see some people i've been missing dearly. All in all, a great con. (Even though Hynes Security had a large spiked nightstuck up it's rent-a-cop ass the entire time.)
  • PortConMaine 2009 is right around the bend! I'll be there with Mike from Thursday night all the way to Sunday. Aaaah... my favorite con of the year: Small, close to home, awesome staff, great programming... love it. I'll be doing a panel with Tom Brown from CopperAge Studios called Photoshop Tips and Tricks on Saturday from 3-5. He'll be talking about the conversion and application of traditional media. My bit will be on layer usage, custom brushes (Do's and Dont's), and some other nifty things. We'll be doing Q&A during and after each section. So, come say hi! We'll be in the Artist Alley.
  • New Artwork is coming, eventually... Mikey is working on a Kerrigan figure from Starcraft and some mini busts to mass produce and sell here on the site along with a couple new masks. I have a ton of sketches and WIPs to finish. I'm still shooting for Xmas to have the artbook done. I'll be self-publishing, so it'll be all outta pocket. *bleh*
  • More as it develops...
